Our Story
Four Decades of Family-Focused Eye Care
Tillman Family Eye Care was founded by Dr. Bill Tillman in 1986 with a mission to provide thoughtful, medical-focused eye care to families in Covington County and beyond. Over the years, the practice grew alongside the community, expanding into a larger Andalusia facility and eventually opening a Brewton location to improve access to care for surrounding areas. Many of the families who walk through our doors today are the same families Dr. Tillman cared for decades ago.
A Father–Daughter Eye Doctor Team
One of the most meaningful parts of our story is the leadership shared by Dr. Bill Tillman and his daughter, Dr. Meredith Tillman Flatt. Dr. Tillman brings decades of clinical experience and community understanding, while Dr. Flatt contributes modern training and a heartfelt commitment to serving the area where she grew up. Together, they represent the best of both worlds, working side by side to care for generations of families.

Dr. Bill Tillman and Dr. Meredith Tillman Flatt lead our practice. They are joined by Dr. Aaron Brent McKinley, M.D., our fellowship-trained ophthalmologist in Andalusia, and Dr. Carl McInnish, who provides experienced, attentive care for our Brewton patients.

With locations in Andalusia and Brewton, we’re proud to bring medically focused eye care to families across Covington and Escambia counties. Our Andalusia office serves as our primary medical and surgical center, offering advanced diagnostics, cataract and glaucoma surgical care, and an in-house edging lab. Our Brewton location provides convenient access to routine and medical eye care for patients in the surrounding communities.
